The phoenix is created using multiple techniques including intricate goldwork, beadwork and raised sequin work and uses many fabrics such as leather, woven steel and metal threads. The pattern on the fabric was inspired by the stone carvings found in the Nasraid Palace at the Alhambra, Granada where she spent the summer of 2016. The patterns were hand drawn before being translated digitally into a repeat pattern. The pattern was then silk screen printed by hand onto silk devore and hand dyed.
